Bubacarr A.M.O Badjie, legal adviser of the ex-NIA, has been released on bail yesterday, Monday, June 12th, his lawyer confirmed.

A.M.O who was detained at the Kairaba Police Station since last Friday is said to be interdicted over allegations that he allegedly leaked a petition document he wrote to President Barrow and published in online media, allegations he denied.

Lawyer Lamin J. Darboe said his client has been granted bail with the sum of fifty thousand dalasis (D50, 000) with two Gambian sureties who have deposited their national identity documents with the police.

Badjie has been accused of exposing the high level of corruption at the country’s former National Intelligence Agency (NIA) -now State Intelligence Services- and the incompetence of its staff in the petition published in local press last week.
