The people of Bureng village in Jarra East are in distress and need support so they can recover from the massive destruction caused by heavy downpour and winds.
The rain started on Saturday around 1 am with a heavy wind which lasted for about five hours and blew off the roofs of more than 40 houses in the village. In addition to the houses destroyed, many trees fell down also. Farmers in Jarra’s oldest village were not expecting first rainfall to destabilise their lives. Jarra Bureng a village of 4,000 people appeal for help from the government, Red Cross, National Disaster Management Agency, NGOs and individual philanthropists to come to the aid of the victims, particularly in building their houses. The disaster is terrible, the pictures speak for themselves.
