Cassamance Rebel Leader Salif Sadio’s Son Dismissed from Gambia’s Army

The son of the head of the North Wing of the Cassamance separatists, Salif Sadio was arrested by Gambia security forces.

Omar Sadio is currently in detention at the State Intelligence Services in Banjul. According to Smbc News, the son of the leader of the movement of democratic forces of Cassamance is questioned by the security services because he is suspected of having enrolled many Senegalese from Cassamance in the Gambian army.

Omar Sadio is also accused of having supplied arms to the rebels and financed their activities. It should be noted that the son of Sadio were enlisted in the Gambian army in 2005.
