Gambian-born artist John Kwesi, widely known by his music sobriquet Deejay Limbo has just signed with Reacapp Production a record label in the Bahamas.
Limbo as he is fondly called is a Dancehall/reggae artist and song writer born in the small town called Latrikunda German in a west African country called The Gambia. He has since relocated to Austria where he has been on the music scene since 2011 and has made a name for himself. Limbo back and forth has performed in various platforms both home and abroad. He recorded lots of songs in his name and amongst them are songs such as ‘Smiling Coast’, ‘Love in the air’, ‘Summertime’, just to name a few. He has also collaborated with many dancehall and reggae artists such as Jamaican born Jah Vinci and Ghana’s very own Stone Bwoy and just to name a few. Limbo once had the opportunity to be signed to G Note Records a record label in the UK, but due to circumstances things didn’t play out the way he envisioned. He still didn’t give up and had caught the eye of songwriter and producer Raquel P Forbes, the president of Reacapp Production Bahamas Limited, a record label in the Bahamas which he is signed to. Back home in the Gambia Limbo is well known even though he is not based in the Gambia. He actually has collaborations with his colleague artists such as ENC, Hakim, Bai Babu, Vypa, etc
Because of his hard work and consistency, he was nominated twice in the most popular Gambian music awards, WAHSAHALAT MUSIC AWARDS as Foreign base Gambian artist of the year. He won the first edition and also nominated for the collaboration category in the second edition.
