More and more drugs related suspects continued to appear in courts these days. From Brikama to Bundung, Kanifing and Banjul, the anti-narcotics prosecutors are busy moving from one court to another, reported the observergm
On Monday at the Brikama Magistrates’ court, Malick Tamba, a narcotic officer who is also the Prosecution Witness (PW1) in the ongoing drug trial involving Omar Keita and Banfar Daffeh told the court that the accused persons were suspected of carrying cannabis that warranted a search on them, that led to their arrest.
Further, in his testimony, officer Tamba said after the arrest of the two accused persons, they were taken to the Siffoe Police station, where they were questioned about the ownership of the 7 bundles of the suspected cannabis. According to him, the duo confessed to them [narcotics officers] that the 7 bundles of the suspected cannabis belong to them.
“They were charged after that confession,” he told the court.
The case was adjourned to 3rd April 2017 to enable Prosecution to bring their second witness.
