President Adama Barrow of the Gambia Monday named Fafa Sanyang as his minister of Petroleum and Energy.
Fafa Sanyang has been the commissioner of Petroleum since 2006.
He previously served as director of the Geological Department from 1993 to 2006.
Mr. Sanyang obtained BSc in Geology from the University of Sierra Lone in 1989, Masters in Marine Management from Dalhousie University, Canada, in 1997.
He also holds an MSc in engineering geology from Leeds University, United Kingdom. He is a fellow of Geological Society of London, FGS and Member, Geological Society of Africa.
