A fire outbreak has been reported at the Central Bank of The Gambia on wednesday, according to information from freedom newspaper.
Bank computers and printers were destroyed as a result of the fire incident. Details are sketchy about the actual cause of the blaze. The bank’s electric door was inaccessible. It ceased to operate because of the incident. A ladder was used to help rescue the entrapped staffers. Bank staffers could be seen climbing on the ladder to get out of the building.
Electricity wasn’t stable at the bank at the time of the incident. There was no reported case of casualty.
