The 18-year-old, who signed a three-year professional contract with Chelsea last year, currently features for the Blues Under-23s but feels ready to leave the club on loan in search of regular first-time opportunities.
Colley, who featured in Chelsea’s 2-2 home draw against Manchester United in the U23 Premier League on Monday, told FotbollDirekt: “As it looks now, I will play in the U23s but the next season, we will probably find some loan somewhere to play first-team football.”
The Kanifing-born defender, who joined Chelsea as an academy player from Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna in 2015, was a loan target for Swedish side GIF Sundsvall in the summer but says he is reluctant to move to the Allsvenskan.
“I’d rather go outside Sweden as I feel right now. So I’m more into Holland where I think I can grow more. But it’s far away now and I just want to focus on the season.”
