The Gambia home-based national team played out a goalless draw against Guinea-Bissau in a friendly international at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Saturday.
At half time, the main occasions for both teams were for the Gambia with the best chance of the half Pa Omar Jobe head wide 3 yards out virtually with an empty post in front of him; and Guinea-Bissau hit the post with A shot by Abukarr Manneh.
The warm up for the Local Based Team was in preparation for the Gambia’s first leg African Nations Championship Kenya 2018 (CHAN) qualifier match at home to Mali slated for July 15. The Gambia will continue to hone the skills of the CHAN team by making a return leg warm up to Bissau next weekend ahead of hosting Mali at its competitive qualifier in Banjul.
As part of the team’s technical preparation at home, the CHAN team has moved their local training to the Independence Stadium in Bakau on a daily basis at 4 pm.
