Hospitalised Yankuba Badjie Discharged

Former director general of the infamous National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Yankuba Badjie, has been discharged from Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul, sources said.

The embattled NIA former director general who was suffering from pneumonia and  admitted at the Private Block of the hospital since mid september has now recovered and has been discharged.

Badjie and eight other former NIA officials, charged with murder and others charges, are standing trial for the killing of Solo Sandeng, the former youth mobiliser of the United Democratic Party, who was tortured to death allegedly by the operatives of the NIA in April 2016.

It could be recalled that the court had been adjourned before the admission of Yankuba Badjie at the hospital but the trial is expected to resume next month.
