Gambia’s head of State, President Barrow met his Senegalese counterpart President Macky Sall in New York on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the United Nation.
The two heads of neighbouring States have strengthened ties. One promising to increase his efforts to open up more to Senegal, the other one to ensure the electrification of some parts of the Gambia.
“We discussed our relations as two countries Gambia and Senegal and to strengthen our cooperation. Within a short period, Senegalese Security Chiefs visited at short intervals. Gambia’s security is of concern to him. The electricity is now connected in rural Gambia in Farafenni. The bridge will facilitate movement between the two countries.” President Barrow said reacting to this meeting.
