President Adama Barrow has issued executive directive asking his cabinet ministers to declare thier Assets before 15 July 2017 in line with the constitution.

The declaration of assets is an indicator of transparency and accountability, in a bid to continue government’s robust drive to wipe out corruption, President Barrow has urged the cabinet ministers to register and declare their assets both to the presidency and the National Assembly to ensure transparency.

Gambia’s President Adama Barrow has told journalists during last January that the ministers in his government would declare their assets before taking cabinet appointment but it was yet to be done, until  he issued this deadline.

The declaration of their assets  is to be followed with needed new rules to curb corruption and ensure financial discipline in the New Gambia.
