Three minutes later, Goune Niangadou seeped into the Gambian defence to serve Ibrahima Kone, who scored the second goal of Mali and his second personal goal. At the 82nd minute the same Ibrahima Kone signed a hat trick as a result of a bright pass of Goune Niangadou. To close the loop, the man of the match Goune Niangadou scored the 4th goal of Mali at the 89th minute.
The addition was heavy for the Gambia. “It was a difficult evening. In addition to the four goals, we’re missing once again to qualify for the finals of Chan. It’s a big disappointment. We had a good first period, with an excellent approach and we put Mali into difficulties. In the second half, they took the decision to win the game. I wasn’t expecting such a score”, lamented coach Alagie Sarr.
