The Gambia will play a friendly international against The Central African Republic (CAR) on Saturday 24th March at the Independence Stadium, as part of preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The fixture marks a return for the Scorpions, following their recent training camps and friendly matches in Morroco. It can be recalled that the Scorpions defeated CAR in a March 2017 friendly in Rabat, Morocco. The match featured a dominant display from the Scorpions who won the match 2-1 thanks to a goal apiece from Modou Barrow and Mustapha Carayol.

The Scorpions will continue their quest for an AFCON 2019 ticket in September, where Algeria lie in wait, before continuing with matches against Togo and Benin, all as part of Group D fixtures.
The Scorpions overcame CHAN 2018 finalists Morocco in their last friendly match during the November 2017 window which was played in Marrakech, Morocco, with a 2-1 victory capped by a double from Assan Ceesay.
