Lance Corporal Samboujang Bojang a detained Gambian soldier allegedly tortured by agents of the State Intelligence Services has been discharged from a military hospital and returned to detention.
LCpl Bojang who spent 11 days in hospital has been escorted back to his cell where he is now being confined. He suffered injuries on his feet and hands caused serious beatings while being questioned by officials of the State Intelligence Services (SIS), former NIA. “He still complains of pain on his feet. He is not physically fit,” Bojang’s wife told the Foroyaa newspaper.
The Caporal Bojang was among a group of soldiers who were arrested last month for allegedly using WhatsApp to post audio recordings critical of the government.
