Two Jolla Soldiers Detained After Been Caught With T 91 Riffles!

Two Gambian soldiers have been taken into custody after they were caught armed with brand new T 91 riffles, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The incident happened in Somita last night, when soldier Kebba Jammeh, and Lamin Badjie, got stopped by the police intervention unit (PIU) officers mounting a check point in the area. Somita, is situated in the Fonis, the birth region of the former Gambian dictator Yahya Jammeh.

When a searched was conducted on the two Jolla soldiers, loaded guns were found in the car. Five rounds of bullets were also found on the two soldiers.

Kebba Jammeh was arrested on the spot, while his co accused person Lamin Badjie,  evaded arrest. A manhunt was mounted to locate the fleeing soldier. Badjie, was arrest in Bullock the next morning Thursday.

A law enforcement source said the men are helping them in their investigations. “ Badjie, and Jammeh were caught with brand new ammunition. We do not know where they got the arms from. We are investigating the matter. These are dangerous weapons,” said our source.

In another development, residents of Brusibi, have been confronted with spade of armed robberies.  Armed men robbed people’s homes, sources said.
